David Rumas is a Fellow of the Conference Consulting Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and an Enrolled Actuary authorized to perform actuarial services under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.


David has over 25 years of professional retirement and actuarial consulting experience primarily with two of the largest and most reputable accounting firms in the world. Working in the actuarial and benefits consulting groups as Director at Deloitte and Senior Manager at Price Waterhouse, David has obtained considerable knowledge and broad expertise in accounting, auditing, taxation, due diligence, actuarial valuation, plan design, implementation, administration, termination analysis, cash-flow and financial statement expense projections, consulting on a multitude of issues pertaining to defined contribution, defined benefit, and post-retirement benefit plans for both public, private, and governmental sectors. Additionally, he has worked extensively in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions related to executive compensation and corporate benefit programs while employed as Senior Vice President at Mesirow Financial analyzing SERPs and other NQDC benefit obligations and financing mechanisms along with 280G excise tax determinations.

More recently, his focus has been on assisting companies in terminating their pension plans, offering comprehensive service from initial feasibility to annuity placement and final distribution of assets. Alternatively, implementing target-end date strategies for employers not able to immediately terminate their plans.

Experience in reviewing benefit plans and working directly with auditors and financial advisors have provided the knowledge for him to provide accurate, complete, and understandable retirement and actuarial consulting services for clients of all sizes.

He has consulted with Fortune 100 companies, governmental entities, hospitals, manufacturers, unions, partnerships, professional service corporations, church organizations, etc. on a wide range of benefit plan issues.
